Grizzly G0441 3 HP Cyclone Dust CollectorA 3 HP cyclone with an 8 in inlet, a 15-1/2 in steel impeller, a 55 gallon drum and a BIA-certified cartridge filter. The blower and barrel rotate 360 degrees and the blower can be wall mounted.
Who it is for
- A dedicated shop (a two-car garage, outbuilding or basement) with a table saw, jointer, planer, bandsaw and sander, ducted with blast gates.
- Woodworkers who run two or three machines with ports open at the same time and need airflow to hold up.
- Shops with 220V already available, or willing to run it for the largest tool in the room.
- Anyone who wants a large drum so that emptying is a weekly job, not a daily one.
Who should skip it
- Shops without 220V and without plans to add it. The G0860 class is the realistic option there.
- Small garages where the 32-7/8 by 32-7/8 in footprint and 109 in height do not fit under the ceiling or beside the machines.
- One-machine hobby shops. 1654 CFM is overkill for a bench planer on a short hose and the machine costs you in space and power.

What the spec sheet does not tell you
The 22A draw at 220V is a project, not a plug. A 3 HP motor at that load usually wants a dedicated 240V circuit with a breaker and wire sized to the nameplate, and an electrician or a careful read of the manual before you order. The wire size calculator helps you check the run from the panel, and the workshop electrical guide explains the circuit side.
At 109 in tall, the G0441 is nearly nine feet of machine. That height is partly why the cyclone body can sit above the drum without a second stage on the floor, but it also means a basement with a low joist line or a garage with a door track and opener can interfere. Measure the highest point of the space where you plan to stand it, and remember the blower and barrel rotate 360 degrees so you can aim the inlet without moving the base.
The 8 in inlet matters more than the horsepower label. A trunk line near 8 in feeding 6 in drops to the machines is the layout the numbers are built for, and using a 4 in hose straight to a tool wastes the capability. If you only ever run 4 in hose to one machine at a time, a smaller collector does the same job with less electricity.
Freight is a 400 lb shipment. Plan for a liftgate delivery, a pallet jack or several helpers, and a clear path from the delivery point to the final spot. Wall mounting the blower reduces the footprint on the floor but adds structural work, so confirm the wall can hold the blower before you commit.
The honest weakness
The G0441 is a big commitment. Its weakness is that the same capacity that serves a ducted shop is poor value in a small one: a 3 HP system is louder at 83 to 85 dB than a 1-1/2 HP unit at 78 dB, it takes more floor, and it asks for 220V. If your shop will always be two machines in a garage, the G0860 class is the sensible purchase. The G0441 earns its cost when you will actually build the ductwork it is designed to serve.
Grizzly direct vs Amazon
The Grizzly button goes to the manufacturer product page, which is where the manual, the parts list and the freight details live. Because Grizzly ships direct, the freight handling on a 400 lb item comes from one seller.
If you want to cross-shop, the Amazon button below goes to a portable 3 HP cyclone from a different brand. Treat it as a cross-shopping tool, not a drop-in equivalent: compare the filter area, the inlet size, the impeller and the drum before deciding.

Alternatives worth considering
Grizzly G0860 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone Dust CollectorThe G0860 is the 1-1/2 HP cyclone with 868 CFM at 1.8 in, on a 110V circuit. It is the better choice for one machine at a time.

Common questions
How many machines can the G0441 run at once?
Grizzly rates it for three machines at once. In practice that means a ducted system with gates, where the airflow stays high enough at each open port. Check your duct layout with the dust collection calculator.
Does the G0441 need 220V?
Yes. It is a 3 HP, 220V motor drawing 22A. Plan a dedicated circuit rather than sharing an existing one.
Is the filter really 0.2 to 2 micron?
Grizzly lists the 113 sq ft cartridge as 0.2 to 2 micron and BIA certified. Filtration quality depends on the filter staying clean and sealed, so inspect the gasket whenever you change the drum.
Can I wall mount the G0441 blower?
Grizzly lists the blower as wall-mountable. That saves floor space but needs a wall with solid framing, so check the structure first.
